Dear Church Family
We know that many of us have been impacted personally and economically in this unprecedented season. The elders, pastors and staff of Red Mountain are praying for you all throughout the day. There is much to communicate with you!
With that in mind, we want to let you know that you will be hearing more from us in the coming days but we wanted to summarize what the elder board has decided as we have prayed and processed together.
As we promised in our last communication with you, the Elders of Red Mountain Community church have been monitoring the developments of our federal and local governments’ attempts to curb the spread of COVID-19. On Monday, March 16, President Trump’s task force recommended limiting social interactions to groups of 10 or fewer even in our homes for the next 15 days. The task force also recommended working from home and limiting discretionary travel outside the home when possible. As we have said, in accordance with Romans 13:1, we would be following the lead of our government concerning our response to limiting the spread of COVID-19.
Therefore, for the next 15 days, we will:
- postpone our 30 Years celebration.
- not have physical Sunday morning gatherings. Instead, we invite you to join a live stream at 10:00am on Sunday, March 22 and March 29. We will update you later this week with specific live stream instructions and links.
- postpone all physical meetings and gatherings of any size on our campus.
- postpone the Raise Up pledge collection Sundays. You may already have an amount you feel led to commit after praying and hearing from the Spirit. You can still mail in those pledge cards or make your commitment through the Red Mountain App. However, many of us are still praying though our commitment level to the project, so feel free to make your commitment when our pledge collection days actually happen. We are not sure when those days will be, but hopefully, after this 15-day period we will have a better idea.
As elders, we believe that we will have a clearer picture of where our country and state is concerning the battle against COVID-19 in 15 days as more testing is available and more information is forthcoming. We will meet again as an elder board on Monday, March 30 to pray and determine how we should enter into the following weeks and months.
We are committed to connecting, encouraging and supporting one another during the upcoming days. Follow us on our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram under “@myredmtn”) and subscribe to the Red Mtn Weekly, if you haven’t yet, for updates and news.
This is a unique moment in the history of the United States. This is also a unique moment for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be brought home to our families and neighbors. We will be communicating ways to engage personally with Jesus and with your families and neighbors in the upcoming weeks. Let us show love and patience to one another and a settledness that comes from knowing the One who holds the future.
We love and appreciate you all and will continue to communicate with you and share the stories we are already hearing of how you are caring for one another!
