Hi! My name is Mark Staples and I have the great privilege of being the Pastor of Student Ministries here at RMCC. God has really given me a heart to reach this generation and make disciples that will walk with Christ for a lifetime.

WHO WE ARE
We are striving to become a community of people passionate to know and live the Gospel of Jesus. We want to invest our High School years not see them slip by into obscurity. This starts by coming to know Jesus personally, not just facts about Him. 

Once we know Him we can start to respond to His call to follow Him in daily, practical ways which leads us to give Him our lives by serving and loving our families, friends, neighbors and enemies. One of the key elements to make sure this happens is by partnering students with some amazing adults who are pursuing Christ.

Our ministry to students seeks to partner with parents and families to see our young people guided through the teen years with purpose. We are part of the emerging generation at Red Mountain Community Church and we’re trying to follow Jesus well.

WHAT WE DO
Tuesday Nights @ The Well: Throughout history wells have always meant life! In Jesus’ day, a well was a place where the community gathered for fellowship and refreshment. Jesus cares about our physical lives, but in John 4 he speaks to a marginalized woman at a well and offers her eternal life. We are striving to be a modern-day well where young people can feel loved and accepted and find the answers for the spiritual thirst as well. We spend time together, worship Jesus and learn more about God and ourselves from the truths of Scripture.

Sunday Morning Small Groups: We believe growth happens best when a group of people get together and study Scripture together. It’s an active pursuit instead of passive listening. We divide our entire group up into grade and gender groups and grow together over the year. We’re convinced that the Bible is the best guide we have for understanding the truth about Jesus and life. So we investigate, together and have conversations about life and faith.

Special Events: We try and maintain a balance of events that will both encourage spiritual growth and also foster an environment where that happens best. A week-long summer camp, annual missions trip, fall/winter retreats and outings, pool parties and service projects are just some of the events we plan to develop this.
