This is the place to give to GOD's mission by volunteering for Summer Explosion. There are many opportunities where you can apply your time and talents to further God's kingdom. And it’s fun too!

We are taking over 500 excited children on an organized journey through God’s Word. Using a game show theme means lots and lots of preparation. As an energetic member of BLAST you will assemble the necessary items ― paper, glue, paint, crayons and markers, etc ― to help facilitate the teaching/learning process. This includes, but is not limited to cutting, pasting, laminating, shopping, stringing, copying, bagging and lots more. All you need is a cheerful heart and willing hands.

As a member of the Child Care Crew you will show Jesus’ love to the little ones by caring for children - under four- whose parent is volunteering during Summer Explosion.

As an In-Room Greeter, you will be responsible for greeting elementary kids and their parents as they come into the classrooms. For serving as an In-Room Greeter, comfort in using a computer is a plus. Training is provided.

You will engage the minds and hearts of preschool or elementary age kids prior to the daily start of Summer Explosion. The majority of these kids belong to Summer Explosion staff.

As a Crew Leader you will direct a crew of 6 or more elementary-aged children from station to station while enthusiastically encouraging their participation. Personally connecting with each child will enhance your ministry and be your #1 goal. Redirecting any behavior that is not conducive to the learning experience of the group will also be your responsibility.

As a preschool room leader, you are responsible for coordinating your helpers in your room. You will teach the fun Bible stories, as well as help facilitate the other parts of the night.

You will communicate Biblical truths with simple words, interacting with the kids on their level ― which is sometimes on the floor ― and engaging kids in the learning activities. Games, crafts, etc, are just a sample of the fun in this region.

As a member of this team you will assist the Decorations Leader with making and strategically placing the decorations as your team transforms the church into The Studio Go Game Show Set. A creative, artistic flair is a plus.

As a member of the Studio Go Crew you are the core of Summer Explosion activities. You will support the Station Leader and need to be enthusiastic and dependable. Interacting and dialoging with kids must be enjoyable to you. The various stations require different gifting and talents as described below:

• Spotlight Creations (gifted in creativity and encouraging):
  You will assist the leader by providing individual support and direction to the children as they assemble their craft item. Verbally connecting the daily Bible Story and theme to the craft as it is being assembled will reinforce truths about Jesus.


• Backstage Food and Fun (gifted in team sports or recreational activity):
  You will assist the leader in organizing and motivating kids to participate in games. Clearly explaining and demonstrating the skills necessary to complete the game or activity may be part of your ministry.


• Primetime Bible Challenge (gifted in drama):
  You need to have a flair for drama and be able to play a convincing role, assist in facilitating group discussion and have the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.


• Service Showcase (gifted in serving and large group discussion):
  You will assist the leader in directing large group service projects as the children discover that God can use them to help others and make a difference in their community.
  

Current 5th and 6th graders will participate in the Summer Explosion experience with their own age and grade appropriate program. As a volunteer in this area, you will assist the 5th and 6th grade leaders as a small group helper, engaging kids in their daily activities.
