In early 1990, six families banded together and committed themselves to the task of cooking up a church that would leave a good taste in people's mouths!

Their dream was to establish a church which was simple, authentic, and practical; a place which would have a large impact on the community of Mesa and on the world for many years to come.

Those were lofty ideals. They have been prayed over, nurtured, guarded, and doggedly pursued since Easter Sunday of 1990, when 35 men, women and children gathered at Anzio Landing Italian Restaurant for the first public meeting of Red Mountain Community Church.

That vision has led to the establishment of quality children's programs, a high caliber youth ministry, a diverse music and worship ministry, a growing small group ministry, the addition of pastoral staff, increasing involvement in foreign missions, the purchase of a 13.5 acre piece of property, and the development of a portion of that property with our first facility.

At the end of the first year, the church included just 50 people; in two and one half years, 100 people. The church added staff, began to support a missionary couple, built a building, and added many to its numbers: 150, then 225, then 300, and beyond.

As we faithfully carry out our purpose of making disciples of Jesus Christ, we believe our church will be an ever-expanding one. Our future will continue to include the elements that have been a vital part of our past.

We are committed to doing them better. Our challenge together is to draw outsiders into the circle of our church and to care for one another faithfully, so that no one becomes just a face in the crowd.

A mind full of vision, a heart full of love, a touch of common sense, and a pinch of humor, blended by dedicated leaders who stir in the principles of scripture - that's the recipe for a church that leaves a great taste in your mouth!
